For the past twelve years or so I have had the pleasure of mentoring hundreds of individuals – both betrayed and unfaithful.
The mentoring dynamic during these sessions has been primarily mentee driven in that the person being mentored has been the one in the driver seat.
They talk about what they want to talk about when they feel the need to talk about it.
They tend to seek advice for their particular situation and set the goals of the relationship and what they want to work on. And that has worked very well.
But some people need more than that type of mentoring relationship.
They need more structure, more focus and more accountability in order for them to be successful.
This especially seems to be the case for many of the unfaithful people that I mentor.
So, I sat down and brainstormed the issues that come up during a typical mentoring call with an unfaithful person and to better help these individuals.
The answer:
"One-on-One Coaching for the Unfaithful Person"
12 - weeks consisting of weekly one-hour telephone sessions with me. (These can be recorded if so desired)
The first session will be an evaluation/discovery session where we will drill down into your situation, your struggles, your strengths, weaknesses, goals, stage in the recovery process, etc.
We will also determine whether we are a good fit and if you’re committed to following through with the program.
After this session we will be able to determine a plan of action for what to focus on in order to get the best results.
Over the next 11 sessions we will focus on working the plan.
Understanding why you had your affair – The meaning of your affair
Understanding your betrayed spouse and what he/she is going through
Developing empathy for your spouse
Evaluating the realities of your marriage and your relationship with your affair partner
Getting off of the fence
The proper way to end your affair
Working through the withdrawal process
How to handle your spouse’s emotions and triggers
Working on improving your harmful responses – anger, defensiveness, conflict
Relapses and setbacks
Living a life of honesty and transparency
Developing a healing mindset
What are your responsibilities in the recovery process?
Helpful books and resources
Personal reflection and making changes
How to be proactive in the recovery and healing process
Demonstrating remorse
Emotional availability and emotional intelligence
Setting and achieving personal and relational goals
Self-forgiveness
Dealing with guilt and shame
Anything else that you feel you need or want to focus on.
You will be given resources with the expectation of reading/listening to - and discussing them.
There will be some exercises that you will be expected to complete.

You will receive email support during the week should you have questions or need help.
Lifetime membership to the Affair Recovery Movement is included.
1) This should not be something that you are being forced to do. You have to want this - because it is a commitment.
2) Secondly, I promise not to judge (after all, I've been in your shoes myself), but I also will not sugar-coat anything. So, some of my answers/advice might not be what you want to hear. And a kick in the pants at times might be appropriate. Just saying.
3) Lastly, I'm not doing these simply to preach to anyone for 12 hours. This program will only be as effective as the time, effort and interaction you put into it.

I’m pretty busy – as are you – and have only so many hours in the day to give you the attention you deserve. As a result, I have to limit the number of people in this program to no more than 4.
